| It is not enough to tend a garden; the plants must be encouraged to bloom and emit fragrance. In the very same way, it is not enough to educate students to make them knowledgeable, it is necessary to ensure that they are put on the right path for becoming valuable citizens of the world. This is exactly what the T&P Department of SSCET has the privilege of doing for the students.
The department ensures that each and every ward of the college gets an opportunity to be selected for placement in some of the best companies of the region. They are trained and groomed to face the ordeals arising out of selection exams and grilling interviews. Care is taken to ensure that equal opportunity is given to all.

It gives us immeasurable pleasure to report that around
324 students have been selected during campus interviews for the 2008 pass out batches, even before they have appeared for their final semester exams. The names of some of the eminent companies are TCS, SATYAM, INFOSYS, TECH MAHINDRA, HEXAWARE, SYNTEL, iGATE, LAFARGE, etc.

It has been due to our tireless efforts that some of the companies have visited only SSCET and we have been able to provide platforms to our fortunate students to try their hands in carving out a niche for themselves among these eminently acceptable employers. We also like to be of help to other aspiring students and have enhanced our infrastructure to organize Pool Campuses in which colleges from all over Chhattisgarh are invited to participate and avail the facilities that our college has to offer.
Along with the Pool Campuses, we have also been successful in conducting Online Exams in which 1500-2000 students participated in all with a huge figure of 300 online participants in the selection process at one go. A really bright feather to our cap.
In our effort to incorporate every resource that might add to the enrichment of our students, PRODIGY, an inhouse committee has been constituted. In this committee all out efforts are made by experienced and selected students to give guidance and training to fresh batches as well as the
2009 batch. The one-month training programme simulates a mock campus interview atmosphere wherein students get the “feel” and “experience” of things to come. We are extremely thankful to Mr. Prathmesh Telang, an alumni of SSCET, and the other members of PRODIGY for the lead and interest taken by them.
Some inspiring seminars on topics like,”Higher Education Opportunities in the US” and “Campus to Corporate” were conducted by eminent personalities like Madam Rekha Kalle from the US Embassy and EIM Academy, respectively.
Resting on past laurels is not our way of working. Placement of the 2009 batch is not over yet. We are hopeful of more off campus interviews like that of INFOSYS, SATYAM, etc., so that our placement % soars to at least 90%, if not 100%. Our target for the
2009 batch is 100%+ placements. To this end, we are planning to schedule some orientation lectures on topics like Body Language, Preparation for Interviews, Basics of Technical Know How etc.
