Genesis :
Shri
Shankaracharya College of Engineering and Technology is the first Engineering
College in India to be named after
Adi Shri Shankaracharya
and blessed by
the all-present jagadguru
. This college was commissioned during the session 1999-2000 with the goal of
providing undergraduate and postgraduate education in Engineering and
Technology, a close interaction with industry, and a strong emphasis on
research.
Growth :
SSCET has grown
steadily in size and activities during the last five years of its existence.
During
the
session 1999-2000, the yearly enrollment was 240 students whereas today it is 570. SSCET attracts the very best talent from Central India and around. In recognition of its achievements, Courses of SSCET have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation. In addition to this, the institute is also ISO 9001:2000 Certified. We strive to become and to be recognized as one of the prominent technical education centers in India. SSCET was the first choice of students seeking admission in 2003-2004 & also in 2004-2005 in the state of Chhattisgarh.
Location:
The college
is situated in Bhilai, (Chhattisgarh), which is known for its world
famous steel
plant and thus has no dearth of technically trained people with sound
scientific background . The location of the college is an added
advantage to the students because there is no distraction, it being
removed
from the hustle-bustle of the town without being secluded. This
creates a
unique atmosphere of educational excellence.

This college does not harbor any prejudice towards any caste, community
or creed and believes in universal brotherhood. It aims at providing the best quality engineering education to the students and strives to
inculcate the best of our cultural heritage in the minds of the
future leaders of the world. The mission of this institute is to
